Martial Arts

This is a mini-documentary depicting the journey of how a person living in a van was able to pursue his passion and eventually open his own MMA gym. Of all the work that I have created, this is the piece of content that I am most proud of.

Due to my previous video work with local fighters, I was given the opportunity to travel to Milwaukee Wisconsin and film a video for Raufeon Stots. I stayed with him for an entire week while I interviewed his coaches, family, practice, and day to day activities. I was documenting his rise from amateur to signing a contract with a major promotion, Bellator.

After the success of working with Raufeon (above), I was commissioned to film four videos showcasing local amateur fighters.

This is a lifestyle video that I made for instagram showing the daily routine for a black belt jiu jitsu instructor. Like all my videos, I came up with the concept, directed the talent, filmed, and edited the content from start to finish.

This a parent testimonial video that I filmed for a local MMA gym. I ran this ad on Facebook offering local parents a free week of classes for new signups. In three weeks, I was able to get 6 new signups with only $90 ad spend. The rapport between a local MMA gym owner which eventually lead to traveling across the midwest conceptualizing and creating content to showcase professional and amateur MMA fighters.

These are the two early videos that I made using entry level film equipment that I bought second hand on Ebay. These videos caught the attention of a wealthy sponsor who commissioned me to film additional videos for clients across the midwest.
